Official coastal beaches only — sourced from public government registries (EEA Bathing Water Directive · US EPA BEACON · Florida DEP · Ireland EPA · NSW Beachwatch). Every beach carries its registry, official id and a source link. Regions are labelled from the GeoNames coastal gazetteer (CC-BY); where no labelled gazetteer covers a country yet, beaches are grouped honestly under “region label pending” — never an invented region. Conditions reuse the live freshness label; a cell we haven’t warmed shows “pending — fetching” or its last-updated age, never a guessed number. Community-mapped OpenStreetMap beaches live in their own clearly-labelled section — never mixed into this official index.
